2005-03-24 - Terry lives

I want all my liberal friends to know that I have been extremly upset over this whole issue and if I offend you I don't mean it.

My previous entry on Terry

Tell me if you think this looks like it’s meant to be a horrible lashing out on my part:

You have a man who has fallen in love with another women and had two
kids with her. In my book he is an adulterer and should have no
legal right to kill his "wife." He was the one who put her on the
feeding tubes in the first place (as her husband he had to sign the
paperwork) and then conveniently forgot until 3 years later that she
wanted to die. I don't really buy that. I think it should at least
go to the courts again to have a diligent look at his character.
This has no real context but to listen to the man (or his brother
for that matter) speak just gives me the creeps.

I was watching an interview [given by Nancy Grace] just tonight with his brother on the news and he was caught red-handed in a flat out lie. He stated that Terry's parents get to see her when ever they please but other reporters on site said they got only a 10 minute visiting privilege tonight after waiting there for 5 hours and even with that they had to be patted down first to make sure they wouldn't bring anything into the room for her. If you had a moral sense of responsibility I would imagine you would at least see they are doing this because they love her and let them visit as much as they can before she is gone.

As for the politics: I strongly suggest that you read "Courting
Disaster" by Pat Robertson or even "Men in Black" by Mark R. Levin
(though that only covers the Supreme Court) to see that the
government had every right to step in. When the courts start over-
ruling what the people of a state vote into law (Democrat and
Republican) then you really need to take a look at the possibility
that they are overstepping their power just a tad. To me there is a
reason we have checks and balances in this country and this case
fits perfectly into the criteria where Congress needed to step in.”

I meant it as a form of debate. It was meant to let them see where I am coming from in my own point-of-view in the UTNE forum. I came back today to see what had been said and it was hidden by a forum admin. They are so set in their ways now that they can’t even hear the other side of the argument. They are all talking about how we have turned this into politics and yet they won’t even let me speak but when a Democrat member of congress gets up there and starts using Terry as a reason to push Medicaid, starving children or even racism it’s not at all about politics! Anyways, if this had anything to do with political gain then when the polls show we are a heartless country of asses then what gain would they have to try and preserve a life? It makes no sense.

Yet only a few posts after mine this passed just fine and was not hidden:

“{Currents.2039.117}: {panlight} Wed, 23 Mar 2005 23:41:49 CST (4 lines)
It's ugly american fascists that defend the mass-murder
of Iraqi civilians in a war of conquest by american troops
that give me the creeps. These people are the ultimate
in low-life hypocrites.”

And this:

“{Currents.2039.118}: {panlight} Thu, 24 Mar 2005 00:14:52 CST (4 lines)
Will the Schiavo fiasco be used to propel Jeb Bush into the
running for the next ameriKKKan fascist dictator?

Watch your fascist news for future propaganda.”

By the way I’ve come across this guy before and he gets away with this stuff all the time. I also believe he knows I am in the military because I have stated it quite a few times in different discussions. People have come to ignore his angry posts unless they agree with him then he acts civil towards you.

Now that the elections are over and the country is becoming more and more bitter and divided there are quite a few people coming out as "anti-military” when before it used to only be, “We support the Troops bring them home.” I think it is for that very reason that his comment has gone untouched. I have now gone from the poor senseless Airmen who only does what I do because I have to follow orders or go to jail to a murderous evil pawn in the Bush war. I am intelligent and I can make decisions on my own and I chose this road. Also, it was the best decision I ever made thought it is a difficult road to take.

He can call us “Fascists” all he wants because of what I have been hearing on the radio about the other side of the argument.

I have been saying this since my first post on Terry and today I heard not one but three different radio talk show hosts give a convincing parallel between this case and pre-Nazi Germany.

They have begun to listen to me I see. Laura Ingram even had a guest on today who is an expert in Nazi Germany. It started before Hitler took over with the murder of thousands of undesirables (mainly the mentally challenged). First you have to de-humanize them. They must look like an object, a thing and a burden. It has to look like they would be better off dead then let them suffer in life. Laura of course also paralleled this with the de-humanizing of unborn babies because if you look at why one is pro-choice it usually has to do with a belief that a would-be mother is to poor or was raped or to young to be able to support a child. Does no one look at the child? Of course not. It’s just a thing until it’s born. It’s not really human.

Once you have popular support you off the “undesirables” with the governments’ approval because “It’s better for them. They are going on to a better place.” Eventually that led to creating a superior race with no Jews and no disabled. Do you realize how much that scares me? I am a Catholic Republican and neither of those is looked upon as very desirable in today’s society. All we need is to vote the right people into office and we will be well on our way to a world turned upside down. I’m not the only one who is scared. Laura got over 2000 e-mails in two hours where the majority of them were from people who are old, disabled, republican, or religious who now fear for their lives because we have opened a flood-gate of possibilities with letting this one woman die. I really do think Terry was born for a reason but I also think that if she dies she could be the first criminal link between our society now and a possible Nazi-like society in the near future.

Then a very good story was read by Jerry Doyle talking about how the Nazi’s came into power and how the line between Science and government became, “hazy.” Eventually the government sanctioned any torture to an “undesirable” as long as it was in the interest of creating a new, superior soldier.

All I can think is that this is Bush’s last term in office and I’m afraid for him to go. Maybe it should be the republicans who should start thinking about running away to Canada like so many liberals have since Bush came into office. It would be better to do it legally now than wait until a war breaks out and we are stuck in concentration camps to be tortured and starved to death.

What do you think? My husband thinks I’m over reacting but my Mother doesn’t and apparently there are a lot of listeners out there who have been thinking the same thing since this case became well-known in the news.
